14.1 The DRS opposes not only the existence and proliferation
of nuclear weapons, but all other aspects of nuclear technology with the
exception of limited technology necessary for the prudent use of medical
isotopes.
14.2 The DRS supports a nuclear arms freeze, a comprehensive
nuclear test ban, a nuclear-free Pacific treaty, and a ban on entry of
nuclear powered ships to Australian ports.
14.3 The DRS calls on the Australian Government to cease the
mining and export of uranium.
14.4 The DRS calls for the establishment of
a national health register for participants in the uranium industry, with
the aim of ensuring comprehensive data collection and facilitating the
diagnosis and management of disease in this population during and after
their involvement in the industry. (see also Occupational
Health 12.5)
