"Today's ACNielsen poll result shows health far ahead of tax concerns in the minds of Australians" said Dr Peter Davoren, President of the Doctors Reform Society.
"Australians have understood that a few extra dollars gained from tax cuts doesn't compensate for health and education protection" he said.
" Foregoing an income tax cut of less than one cent in the dollar would more than adequately fund the recently scrapped Commonwealth Dental Health Scheme" said Dr Davoren.
" This cynical 'fistful of dollars' approach which politicians believe motivates voters is running out of steam. The people are asking for more than a few lousy bucks" said Dr Davoren.
" They'd rather have a decent health and education system" he said.
