At the National Conference of the Doctors Reform Society in Melbourne today, National President, Dr Peter Davoren said,
"The privatisation and corporate take-over of General Practice is destroying Medicare."
"Big business is moving into General Practice, not for the good of the community but for the good of their corporate bottom line" said Dr Davoren.
"The consequences will be higher costs for health services, reduced access to health care for the disadvantaged and the disappearance of bulk-billing" said Dr Davoren.
