MEDICARE DAY OF ACTION

"The Doctors' Reform Society is calling on all Australians to support the Medicare Day of Action this Friday 7th April, World Health Day. Our universal public health system provides equity of access to health care for all Australians and does not discriminate according to ability to pay" said Doctors Reform Society national president and Gold Coast physician Dr Peter Davoren.

"Medicare is under serious threat as current Federal Government policies are bleeding it of funds. A two-tiered health system will be the consequence. The rich will get first class treatment and the rest will be left to rely on an under-funded, under-staffed public system" said Dr Davoren.

All Australians are urged to sign a petition or send a postcard to Canberra supporting Medicare. An email version of the postcard can be accessed via the Doctors' Reform Society website at www.drs.org.au.
