It was noted during World War II that within prisoner-of-war camps resources were shared more equally by Australian diggers than their US counterparts.
Egalitarianism, looking after your less fortunate mates, has long been part of Australian culture. Unfortunately, for some reason our Prime Minister is an honorary Texan.
